The Canadian Journal of Community Mental Health, published twice
each year, provides a much needed forum for Canadian scholars and
practitioners with interest in the promotion of positive mental
health and the prevention and treatment of mental health problems
in community settings. The Journal is an interdisciplinary publication
devoted to the sharing of information and valid knowledge about
phenomena pertinent to the mental well-being of Canadians and their
communities.
Study areas of priority interest to the Journal include program
evaluation in human services, community needs assessment, community
development, social action, self-help, community education, consultation,
and advocacy. The Journal also strives to inform readers about recent
public developments which influence the mental health of Canadians.
Submissions for publication may include descriptions of exemplary
community programs, policy analyses, theoretical articles, research
reports, and literature reviews. In addition to scholarly work,
the Journal publishes reviews of relevant books.
The Journal is a non-profit enterprise and will receive articles
in both French and English with the abstracts of the other language
published in each instance.
